Serving as a motor inverter, it links the plant's low-voltage control supply to medium-power induction drives and translates process commands into variable output voltage and frequency for speed regulation. This arrangement allows smooth motor speed adjustment in cabinet-mounted systems used in machining cells, conveying lines, and material-handling axes, where electronic control replaces stepped mechanical speed-change components.

Its logic electronics are powered from a control supply of 24 V ± 5%, while the drive section can deliver up to 880 A of phase current to the connected motor during acceleration or heavy load events.
