The RZP01.1-S1 option module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZP Option Modules series. It expands drive controllers with additional communication and diagnostic capability, allowing the automation system to link optically to a central motion bus while maintaining immunity to electrical noise in multi-axis industrial control cabinets and compact machine installations. All logic power is drawn from an internal supply rail within the host controller, eliminating separate wiring.
This module communicates over a Fiber Optic link and functions as a SERCOS Slave, so it receives synchronized drive commands through light-based media rather than copper conductors. Compliance with IEC 61491 helps keep protocol timing and telegram structure consistent across mixed-vendor networks. Electrical resilience is illustrated by its Level 4 burst immunity rating, which shows how much surge stress the electronics can withstand without malfunction.
