Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s RZP01.1-P2 belongs to the RZP Option Modules series and mounts on compatible drive controllers to add Profibus connectivity. The plug-in board serves as a communication interface, letting the drive exchange process data, status words, and parameters over the fieldbus so that motion commands and diagnostics can be handled from a central PLC. Because the module installs directly on the controller, it extends network communication without requiring a separate standalone interface at the axis.
The signal path is implemented through an RS485 physical layer, giving balanced transmission immunity to electromagnetic interference. Supported baud rates range from 9.6 kbit/s for legacy nodes up to 12 Mbit/s for time-critical axes, allowing use across different controller generations. Internal backplane lines supply the required +5 V, +15 V, so no external power wiring is necessary. At the protocol level, the card identifies itself as a DP Slave, so it responds to cyclic polls and acyclic parameter requests from the master and does not send messages independently. It also accepts freeze and sync modes, which let several drives capture or update I/O images at the same time when coordinated bus timing is required.
Address space accommodates up to 126 logical devices, while Profibus guidelines limit a cable segment to 32 powered stations before a repeater is needed. The module remains compact at 111.5 mm in depth and 87 mm in width, so it takes up little cabinet space when installed beside other control hardware. It is intended for class 3K3 operating conditions, which suit moderate heat and humidity typical of enclosed electrical rooms. The board fits multi-vendor Profibus networks that follow standard DP communication practices, and its compact size leaves room for adjacent control hardware in dense cabinets.
