Product Description:

The RZP01.1-G3 option card is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZP Option Modules series. Designed for axis controllers in distributed drive systems, the module conditions encoder feedback so the drive can track position, velocity, and fault status. It combines differential line reception and regenerated line drivers on a single embedded card, which allows direct installation in the base unit without external cabling. Its role is to translate incremental encoder signals into a format the controller can process while preserving isolation and signal integrity. Because the interface electronics stay on the card, the base controller can receive clean incremental channels without adding a separate external converter.

The card measures 100 × 89 mm and receives power from the controller backplane through the internal +5 V and +15 V rails, so no separate supply is required. Incoming encoder channels use a differential RS422 level from a TTL pulse encoder. The board also provides a regulated sensor supply and can deliver up to 300 mA to the connected load, while a jumper can switch that supply to +10 V for older pickups. The input network uses 120 Ω termination, tolerates common-mode or ground-referenced excursions of ±10 V, and supports signal frequencies up to 300 kHz. Power and signal functions are combined on the same module, which reduces the number of separate interface parts inside the controller.

After reception, the module recreates the A, B, and reference tracks with an RS422 output driver that is short-circuit proof. The recreated outputs give the controller a stable copy of the encoder channels for internal processing. This stage maintains the required output level into the specified load and preserves reliable edge timing across the supported signal range. Physical connection is handled by an X48 15-pin Sub-D plug for encoder wiring and an X49 9-pin Sub-D plug for the regenerated signals returned to the drive logic. These connectors keep shielding continuous and help keep internal wiring organized.
