The RND01.1-5-018 is a three-phase mains choke manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RND Three Phase Mains Chokes series. Installed on the AC input of drive systems, it adds series inductance that helps limit harmonic currents, reduce dv/dt, and ease inrush stress on rectifier and DC-link components. Its function is passive, so it conditions the incoming line rather than generating or switching power. This makes it suitable for supporting stable operation in inverters, servo drives, and other automation equipment connected to the same supply bus.

The electrical profile includes an inductance of 0.29 mH, which gives the choke the reactive impedance needed to reduce high-frequency distortion on the line. It is rated for a continuous line current of 38 A, allowing each phase to carry that load without pushing the winding beyond its thermal limit under normal service conditions. Supply compatibility reaches up to 3AC 500 V +10 %, and the unit can operate on both 50 / 60 Hz utility systems. At the drive terminals, the choke supports connected loads of up to 18.5 kW, which fits medium-power applications such as conveyors, pumps, and machine tooling. The added line impedance can also help reduce stress on upstream switching devices when the supply network is subject to sharp transients.

The housing has an IP20 protection rating, so the device is finger-safe but still intended for installation inside a control cabinet. Operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 40 °C, and higher temperatures require derating to protect the insulation system.
