The RL2-563LBB motor power cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. As a dedicated supply conductor, this model links a drive inverter to a servo or spindle motor, carrying the main phase current and auxiliary sensing lines required for closed-loop operation. In automated machines, a matched cable simplifies installation, preserves electromagnetic compatibility, and maintains the required thermal capacity along the moving axis. Its materials are selected to withstand repetitive drag-chain motion while maintaining low electrical resistance throughout its service life.
The primary conductors use a 4x L + 4x 0.75 mm² layout. Four load cores carry motor phase current, while four smaller cores provide brake or sensor power, allowing the control wiring to remain bundled with the main power conductors. Each load core has a cross-sectional area of 35.0 mm², limiting voltage drop and temperature rise when high peak currents are drawn during acceleration. In a fixed installation, the copper strands may reach a temperature of 90 °C without exceeding the insulation limits. During continuous flexing, the maximum conductor temperature is reduced to 80 °C to protect the dielectric material from fatigue cracking. A thermoplastic polyurethane sheath made of PUR surrounds the bundle, providing abrasion resistance and oil tolerance for use in machining centers and conveyor carriers.
The cable is categorized as Basic in the RL2 portfolio and includes the core features required for standard motor power transmission. Its outer jacket is orange (RAL 2003), making the high-energy conductors readily visible among signal lines in control cabinets and drag chains. Compatibility with second-generation Rexroth motors provides the appropriate connector keys and pin assignments, helping prevent cross-phase wiring errors.
