The RL2-086JBB cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and forms part of the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. This product is a flexible power and signal link intended for routing between Rexroth second-generation servo motors and their drive controllers within automated production cells. Its role is to carry three-phase power, control voltages, and protective earth through a single movable harness, reducing cabinet wiring and tolerating continuous motion in cable chains, robot wrists, and other dynamic machine elements.
Electrical capacity is defined by copper conductors with a cross-section of 16.0 mm², rated for system potentials up to 600/1000 V on the power cores. The construction endures 5,000,000 bending cycles, and movement may occur down to a minimum dynamic radius of 7.5xD without cracking the outer jacket. When flexing, the PUR sheath remains pliable across -20 to +60 C, so axis motion is not limited by ambient temperature. A basic internal design segregates power and signal bundles to minimize mutual interference during rapid drive switching.
For stationary segments, auxiliary conductors may operate at 450/750 V, and routing can tighten to a static radius of 5xD. Under fixed installation the insulation withstands conductor temperatures up to 90 C, and it maintains at least 20 MΩ/km of resistance at 20 °C to keep feedback channels noise-free. The orange PUR jacket (RAL 2003) offers abrasion, oil, and coolant resistance, while the permissible ambient range widens to –30 °C to +80 °C in fixed trays. These characteristics allow the cable to sustain long life in energy chains and machine tools without additional conduit or protective armor.
