The RL2-042DBB is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. It links second-generation Rexroth servo motors to their drives, carrying power and feedback signals in automated machinery. As a member of the Rexroth Cable product group, the assembly uses a basic four-conductor design that supports continuous-motion routing in cable chains and robotic axes, while its orange PUR jacket provides abrasion resistance and visibility on the factory floor.
The copper conductors have a cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm², balancing current capacity with cable flexibility. The insulation withstands temperatures up to 90 °C in a fixed installation or 80 °C during continuous movement. The cable has a rated mechanical life of 5 million bending cycles, and dynamic routing is possible with a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D. A stationary installation permits a tighter minimum bend radius of 5 × D. These curvature limits help prevent conductor fatigue during energy-chain operation. The sheath is halogen-free, reducing the release of corrosive gases under fire conditions, and the PUR compound is color-matched to RAL 2003 for consistent visibility in machine installations. Because the cable is designed for second-generation motors, its internal geometry and shielding match the corresponding connector system. Its basic construction also keeps the outer diameter low without requiring additional filler elements.
The main conductors are rated for up to 600/1000 V, allowing them to carry motor power within the cable assembly. The integrated signal pair is rated for 450/750 V, enabling power and feedback circuits with different voltage classes to share one cable envelope while remaining appropriately insulated. A pre-molded M40 (V) power plug connects directly to the motor housing and eliminates the need to terminate the motor-end connection in the field. The molded interface also provides a consistent connection at the motor while reducing the number of separate cables routed through moving machinery. The abrasion-resistant jacket protects the enclosed conductors where repetitive movement exposes the cable to contact with carrier surfaces.
