The RKS0001 is a control cable supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKS Control Cables series. Designed for signal and low-power transmission between servo drives and peripheral sensors or I/O modules, the cable links motion controllers to field devices inside automated machinery. Its construction and mechanical ratings allow installation in both stationary cable trays and continually moving cable chains common in pick-and-place axes, gantries, and packaging equipment.

The signal pairs and power cores follow a 4x2x0.25 mm² + 2x0.5 mm² layout, so four twisted pairs carry differential control signals while two larger conductors feed auxiliary devices. Overall outside diameter is 8.8 mm (±0.3 mm), small enough for tight cable ducts yet large enough for electromagnetic shielding layers. Control circuits can be energized up to 300 V, matching typical 24–300 V I/O supply rails in drive cabinets. The 0.25 mm² strands exhibit a dc loop resistance of 83.0 Ω/km, while the larger 0.5 mm² cores measure 39.5 Ω/km, limiting voltage drop over long runs. When routed through moving drag-chains the cable must observe a minimum bend of 7.5 x D to keep the insulation and screen intact.

For static routing on mounting frames the bend limit relaxes to 5 x D, and the construction has been tested for 5,000,000 cycles of continuous motion without conductor fracture. Service temperatures cover –30 to +40 °C in fixed sections and –20 to +40 °C while flexing, so the same cord set can bridge cabinet interiors and moving tooling in moderately heated plants. The matte, adhesion-free PUR (adhesion-free, matte) outer sheath, delivered in RAL 2003 orange for high visibility, resists cutting oils and cleaning agents. A 0.25 mm² internal control drain conductor simplifies shield termination, and the storage temperature range matches the fixed ambient limit to prevent jacket embrittlement during warehousing.
