The RKL4801 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed to connect Rexroth drives to synchronous servo motors, this molded cable transmits motor phase power and auxiliary control signals in automated machinery. Its construction supports continuous motion inside cable carriers, allowing reliable energy transfer between the controller cabinet and the moving axis.
The conductor bundle is constructed from INK0670 bulk cable, which uses finely stranded copper conductors to balance flexibility with current capacity. Mechanical endurance is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, so the assembly can operate for long periods in high-duty drag chains without conductor fracture. During dynamic motion, the cable requires a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D, while stationary installations permit a tighter minimum radius of 5 × D. These limits help prevent conductor damage and insulation fatigue during installation and operation. Three power conductors each have a cross section of 0.75 mm², providing the current capacity needed for low-power servo axes. A woven shielding layer and dedicated signal pairs reduce common-mode noise between the drive inverter and motor.
The outer jacket is made of PUR, a material selected for oil resistance and abrasion tolerance, and is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for quick identification in a mixed-cable harness. The conductors can operate continuously at up to 80 °C without loss of dielectric strength, allowing the cable to be installed near warm servo motors. Two control cores, each with a cross section of 0.5 mm², carry brake or sensor voltages alongside the three power conductors. Factory-fitted connectors simplify installation: an RLS0746/KM75 angled plug mates with the controller, and an RLS1701/C01 bayonet plug locks to the motor. The molded connector bodies help protect the terminations from strain as the cable moves through an energy chain.
