The RKL4778 is a dedicated motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links a servo controller to a motor, carrying high-current phases and low-level control conductors to support coordinated motion in automated machinery. The cable is engineered for continuously moving drag-chain routes common in packaging lines, pick-and-place units, and other applications where electrical continuity must be maintained during repetitive flexing. Its conductor arrangement allows the assembly to carry motor power and auxiliary signals within a single cable, reducing the number of separate connections required along a moving axis.
The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles under continuous flexing conditions. During motion, the minimum dynamic bend radius is 7.5 × D; operating below this value increases strain on the copper strands and surrounding insulation. In fixed routing, the minimum bend radius is reduced to 5 × D because the cable does not experience repetitive movement. The power conductors have a cross-sectional area of 35.0 mm², allowing them to transmit high motor currents with limited voltage drop. Separate control conductors have a cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm² and can carry signals for motor brakes, temperature sensors, or other auxiliary circuits without increasing the size of every conductor in the bundle.
The drive side uses an RLS0727 controller connector, while the motor end terminates with a keyed INS0381 plug that helps prevent incorrect connection. The assembly is based on INK0667 bulk cable, which has a halogen-free jacket that resists cutting oils and maintains a consistent outer diameter for secure clamping. Continuous operation is supported at temperatures as low as -30 °C, allowing the cable to remain flexible in cold rooms or outdoor machinery. The maximum operating temperature is 80 °C, helping the insulation withstand heat generated when the connected motor operates under heavy load. The durable jacket also protects the internal conductors against abrasion as the cable moves through carriers and around supported routing points.
