It connects drive inverters to servo or spindle motors in automated assembly lines, packaging stations, and machining centres, transferring three-phase power alongside pilot and earth conductors. The design goal is stable voltage delivery, noise suppression, and mechanical durability when the installation is either fixed inside a cabinet or flexing along an energy chain.

Under stationary mounting, the minimum bend radius equals 5 x D, meaning the installer must keep the curvature at least five times the 29.8 mm diameter to avoid conductor strain. When the cable reciprocates in a carrier, the allowable radius tightens to 7.5 x D, a parameter defining safe repetitive motion.
