It functions as the dedicated power link between an IndraDrive controller and a servomotor, carrying phase current through the power conductors while providing protective grounding and auxiliary connections for low-level control signals. This arrangement keeps moving machine elements energized while they travel along their intended paths. The cable is designed for high-cycle drag-chain environments, allowing automated pick-and-place units, gantry systems, and packaging stations to maintain continuous motion without electrical interruption.
Its mechanical endurance is demonstrated by a service life of 5,000,000 flex cycles when routed in an energy chain. To limit conductor stress during motion, the cable requires a dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D, while fixed installation permits a minimum bending radius of 5 × D. The main three-phase conductors each have a cross-sectional area of 25.0 mm², helping reduce voltage drop over long cable runs.
