The RKL4720 is a preassembled power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is supplied as a preterminated link between Rexroth drives and synchronous motors, carrying three-phase output power and the auxiliary supply lines required by motor-mounted devices. By eliminating on-site crimping and shielding work, the cable simplifies installation inside automated machinery while ensuring that its conductor geometry and shielding match the electrical demands of high-frequency drive outputs.
The primary conductors inside the RKL4720 have a cross-sectional area of 4.0 mm², providing a low-impedance path for motor phase current. Two auxiliary pairs differ in size to match their respective loads: conductors 5 and 6 use 1.0 mm² copper for low-current tasks such as brake release signals, while conductors 7 and 8 use 1.5 mm² copper for accessories with higher current demands. For continuous motion, a dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D helps prevent internal strand fatigue during energy-chain travel, whereas a static bending radius of 5 × D applies when the harness is fixed in place. These values apply to the INK0603 bulk cable, which Rexroth sleeves and shields before adding molded terminations suitable for power-drive environments.
