Product Description:
The RKL4638 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for drive-to-motor connections in industrial automation applications where continuous motion and electrical integrity are required. The cable routes three-phase power and auxiliary circuits between an IndraDrive controller and a servo motor, making it suitable for energy-chain carriers and other highly dynamic axis assemblies.
The cable’s outer sheath measures 30.8 mm in diameter, allowing conduit fill and clamp sizing to be verified before installation. Inside the sheath, the conductor set follows a 4x35.0 mm² + 2x(2x1.5 mm²) layout, so four main cores carry motor current while the paired auxiliary cores support brake or sensor functions. Copper loss is limited by a conductor resistance of 0.554 Ω/km at 20 °C, which helps reduce voltage drop over extended cable runs. Between the cores and shield, the dielectric has a discharge capacity of 1.2 nF/m, which supports the evaluation of common-mode currents from fast-switching inverters. External protection is provided by a PUR (adhesion-free, matte) jacket that resists cutting oils and does not leave residue on guide surfaces.
The cable supports up to 5,000,000 flex cycles in cable chains, accommodating repeated movement on pick-and-place gantries and similar automated systems. For a static installation, the minimum bend radius is 5 × D. During continuous motion, the minimum bend radius increases to 7.5 × D to help prevent conductor fatigue. The jacket is colored RAL 2003 (orange), allowing energized motor leads to be identified easily within mixed cable harnesses. At the controller end, a keyed RLS0727/K35 connector mates directly with the appropriate Rexroth drive connection, while the motor end terminates in an RLK0007 plug that seals against the housing grommet.
