The RKL4636 motor power cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo and spindle installations, the cable routes three-phase power and protective conductors between IndraDrive controllers and synchronous motors in automated machinery. Its design supports repetitive motion inside dynamic axes, so it serves as the moving link in gantries, pick-and-place modules, and other drag-chain-guided assemblies that demand consistent electrical delivery under continuous flexing.
The cable is rated for 5 million bending cycles, indicating that the jacket and conductor bundle can travel in energy chains over long service intervals without fatigue cracks. An overall diameter of 18.5 mm determines clamp, gland, and conduit sizing while still allowing a compact bend arc inside narrow machine spaces. Electrical losses are minimized by a conductor resistance of 3.30 Ω/km, so voltage drop stays within servo-grade tolerances even on extended runs. Motor-drive interference is reduced because the cable’s line-to-shield discharge capacitance is only 0.8 nF/m, limiting reactive current at high switching frequencies. The core insulation system withstands up to 600 V AC, matching common drive output stages for medium-power axes.
The internal conductors follow a 4 × 6.0 + 2 × 1.0 + 2 × 1.5 mm² layout, so three motor phases, protective grounding, temperature sensor signals, and brake lines are carried in a single sheath to simplify routing. The outer cover is a PUR layer that is adhesion-free and matte, allowing it to slide smoothly in plastic guide trays while resisting cutting oils. Visual identification in multi-cable tracks is supported by the RAL 2003 orange color. During operation, the moving cable can flex to a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D, while fixed sections may be secured at a minimum radius of 5 × D. The conductor insulation tolerates temperatures up to 80 °C during motion and 90 °C in stationary installations.
