The RKL4628 is a power-delivery cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Classified as a power cable, it links an IndraDrive controller to a motor housing without requiring onsite conductor preparation. Within automated cells, the assembly carries three-phase power and provides a protective-earth connection from the cabinet to the machine. Its prefabricated terminations support electromagnetic compatibility and provide strain relief at both ends, reducing the amount of cable preparation required during installation.
Mechanical endurance is rated at 5,000,000 flex cycles, indicating how many repeated movements the conductors can tolerate before fatigue becomes a concern. Stationary layouts must maintain a minimum bend radius of 5 × D to prevent excessive stress on the jacket and internal conductors. Moving cable tracks require a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D because repeated motion places greater strain on the conductor strands. Each conductor has a cross-sectional area of 35.0 mm², supporting high continuous current while limiting resistive power loss and voltage drop over extended cable runs. At the machine end, the cores terminate inside a sealed terminal box that secures the shielding and provides a fixed connection point for lug hardware.
The assembly is supplied as a ready-made harness, which shortens field installation by eliminating conductor cutting and end preparation. The controller side includes a keyed RLS0724 plug that supports proper connector orientation and a secure electrical connection. The copper conductor tips are fitted with crimped ferrules, providing organized terminations for reliable clamping at their connection points. The cable supports motion and storage at temperatures as low as -30 °C, helping the jacket remain flexible in cold industrial areas and unconditioned storage spaces. Its maximum operating and storage temperature is 80 °C, allowing the insulation and jacket to tolerate heat near motors, drives, and other power equipment.
