The RKL4603 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed to link IndraDrive controllers to synchronous or asynchronous motors, the assembly routes three-phase power and auxiliary signals while tolerating continuous machine motion. Its construction supports fixed cabinet runs as well as dynamic routing on cable chains commonly found in packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment.
Inside the cable core, four copper conductors dedicated to the main phases each have a cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm²; this conductor size supports continuous current transmission and limits voltage drop over long distances. Signal functions are carried by four control lines with a cross-sectional area of 1.0 mm², providing paths for sensor power or brake release without adding excess bulk. Mechanical reliability during repetitive motion is supported by a flex endurance of 5,000,000 bending cycles when the installation respects the required dynamic radius. Connection to the drive is simplified by the molded RLS0721/K03 plug, which locks to compatible Rexroth servo modules without field wiring. The molded assembly also supports consistent shielding and strain relief in multi-axis applications where nearby cables are exposed to repeated movement.
The outer sheath is extruded from PUR that resists oil, coolant, and abrasion; its matte surface is colored RAL 2003 orange to identify moving power circuits clearly within industrial machinery. For stationary routing, a static bend radius of 5 × D is allowed, while dynamic carriers must maintain a minimum loop radius of 7.5 × D to preserve conductor spacing. Fixed installations can operate within a temperature range of -30 to +40 °C, and flexible runs can operate at temperatures as low as -20 °C, allowing the cable to bridge cabinet and machine zones with different operating conditions. Factory-crimped ferrules on the motor side simplify terminations and prevent individual strands from spreading inside terminal clamps.
