The RKL4585 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is designed to supply three-phase power and auxiliary signals between IndraDrive controllers and synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery. By integrating power and control conductors in one sheath, the cable streamlines cabinet wiring and supports dynamic motion axes on assembly lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling cells.
Four copper power cores have a conductor cross-section of 25.0 mm², providing low impedance for currents typical of medium-frame servo motors. Their DC resistance at 20 °C is 0.78 Ω/km, so voltage drop remains limited over drag-chain runs. Between the conductors and shield, the cable has a discharge capacity of 1.1 nF/m, which influences output filter design and helps control leakage currents. The insulation withstands 300/500 V, matching common control voltages while providing headroom for regenerative peaks. An overall diameter of 29.8 mm simplifies gland selection in IP-rated enclosures. The cable also incorporates four 1.5 mm² control cores for brake release or temperature sensors, keeping auxiliary wiring inside the same protective jacket. It is suitable for drag-chain installations that involve repeated flexing during machine operation.
Mechanical flexibility is supported by a minimum fixed bend radius of 5 × D and a dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D, allowing continuous motion in cable carriers without exceeding strain limits. It is molded from PUR (adhesion-free, matte), which resists oils, coolants, and welding sparks while preventing stick-slip motion in densely packed chains. The compound is halogen-free to minimize corrosive gases during a fire, and the cable remains stable at ambient temperatures commonly encountered on factory floors.
