The RKL4518 is a preassembled motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It serves as the electrical link between a Rexroth drive controller and the motor terminal box, carrying main phase conductors and auxiliary control pairs through continuous-motion paths found in automated handling systems and gantries. Factory-crimped contacts and a molded backshell match the required terminal box size, allowing rapid cabinet-to-motor installation and reducing wiring errors in industrial automation cells.
This model endures 5,000,000 flex cycles when routed in a drag chain, and it maintains insulation integrity with a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D. The overall outside diameter is 29.8 mm, which supports tray-fill calculations and gland selection. The cable has a characteristic capacitance of 1.1 nF/m, limiting charging current so drives can meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements over long runs. Its conductor DC resistance of 0.78 Ω/km minimizes resistive losses during high-current acceleration sequences. Three power cores each have a cross-sectional area of 25.0 mm², supporting typical servo outputs without excessive voltage drop along the cable.
A separate shielded pair with a 1.5 mm² cross-sectional area supplies brake or temperature signals, giving the assembly combined power and control capability within one jacket.
