The RKL4492 motor power cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links Rexroth drive amplifiers to synchronous motors, carrying three-phase power along with auxiliary cores for feedback or brake circuits inside automated production cells. The cable is intended for fixed or continuously moving drag-chain layouts where mechanical robustness and electromagnetic compatibility are required.

With an overall diameter of 17.0 mm, the RKL4492 fits common energy-chain troughs while still enclosing the copper bundle and shielding. Conductor resistance is limited to 4.95 Ω/km, a figure that controls voltage drop over extended runs. The low mutual capacitance of 0.8 nF/m reduces reactive current when the drive switches at high carrier frequencies. A matte, adhesion-free jacket made from PUR resists oils and weld spatter and supports tight bending cycles. Visual identification on factory floors is helped by the standardized RAL 2003 orange color. Two signal cores (wires 5 and 6) use a 1.0 mm² cross-section and can be energized up to the control rating of 300/300 V for encoder or sensor supply lines.

For the power trio, each conductor is sized at 4.0 mm² and may be operated at up to 300/500 V, matching the output stage of standard IndraDrive inverters. Continuous installation temperatures reach 90 °C when the cable is clamped, while flexing applications are limited to 80 °C to preserve insulation integrity. Additional brake or fan pairs (wires 7 and 8) utilize a 1.5 mm² cross-section to separate control currents from the main phase bundle. These thermal and dielectric margins allow the cable to handle repetitive torsion, vibration, and acceleration inside pick-and-place gantries and articulated robot wrists without premature ageing.
