Product Description:
The RKL4481 is a preassembled motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo-drive installations, the assembly carries phase current and auxiliary signals between Indramat drive controllers and moving motors in automated machinery. Its materials support continuous movement in cable carriers, allowing motors to travel along linear axes while the cable remains within safe bending limits. Proper routing helps protect the conductor insulation and preserves signal integrity during repeated machine cycles.
The main power circuit uses four conductors, each with a cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm², balancing current capacity with the flexibility required for dynamic motion. The cable has an overall diameter of 14.8 mm, which should be considered when selecting cable glands, clamps, and drag-chain compartments. During operation, the jacket requires a dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D to reduce copper fatigue as the cable moves repeatedly inside a carrier. The outer sheath is colored orange (RAL 2003), making the cable easier to distinguish from other wiring in crowded cabinets and machine assemblies. Four additional conductors carry brake release, temperature sensor, or similar auxiliary signals without using the main phase conductors.
Each auxiliary conductor has a cross-sectional area of 1.0 mm², keeping control circuits separate from the motor phases while limiting the overall bundle diameter. In static routing, the cable may be installed with a minimum bending radius of 5 × D. Its adhesion-free, matte PUR jacket resists abrasion and reduces sticking during continuous travel through a drag chain. Fixed installations and storage are permitted within a temperature range of -30 to +40 °C, while moving applications remain serviceable from -20 to +40 °C. Individual wire insulation withstands 80 °C during flexible operation and 90 °C in fixed routing. The cable is suitable for drag-chain use, so additional protective sleeving is not required under the stated operating conditions.
