The RKL4473 power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It connects servo drives to motors and carries three-phase power and auxiliary signals across moving machine axes. Its mechanical flexibility and electrical capacity allow the drive to supply stable current to the motor while the cable withstands repeated movement in drag chains or cable carriers. This combination supports routing through automated equipment where conductors are exposed to frequent bending, acceleration, and changes in travel direction.
This model combines primary power conductors with auxiliary signal pairs and a drain wire. The cable has a diameter of 18.5 mm, which determines the required cabinet gland size and minimum clamp dimension. Each power core has a 6.0 mm² cross section and supports continuous operation at a line voltage of 600 VAC without excessive conductor heating. The bundle has 8 total copper conductors, allowing brake and temperature channels to run beside the motor phases. When routed in an energy chain, the sheath permits a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D, which keeps stress on the internal conductors within recommended limits. The cable has a capacitance of 0.8 nF/m and a loop resistance of 3.30 Ω/km, providing electrical values that can be considered when configuring the connected drive.
The orange outer jacket is made from PUR, providing resistance to abrasion and oil while retaining the flexibility needed for moving equipment. Its standardized color is RAL 2003 (orange), which allows energized motor wiring to be identified quickly within crowded machinery. The centrally routed auxiliary conductors use a 2 × 1.0 mm² + 2 × 1.5 mm² arrangement for feedback power or brake control, eliminating the need for a separate instrumentation cable. The assembly supports horizontal travel of up to 50 m in drag-chain layouts, accommodating long machine paths without interrupting power or auxiliary connections. It can also be installed in static runs with a minimum fixed bend radius of 5 × D, allowing tighter routing where the cable remains stationary.
