The RKL4408 cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a dedicated motor power lead for IndraDrive and EcoDrive servo systems, combining power delivery and auxiliary sensor conductors in one flexible assembly. Its pre-engineered conductor sizing, insulation, and factory-installed terminals simplify installation between cabinet inverters and machine-mounted synchronous motors in industrial automation. The cable also supports dynamic routing in drag chains while maintaining electrical integrity during repeated movement.
Four copper conductors with a cross-sectional layout of 4 × 10.0 mm² carry the main three-phase motor current and provide protective grounding. Two auxiliary pairs use a 2 × 1.0 mm² + 2 × 1.5 mm² layout and are arranged concentrically for temperature sensors or brake-release circuits within the power bundle. The cable has an overall diameter of 22.2 mm, allowing compact gland entry into motors and cabinets. A PUR adhesion-free, matte jacket resists oils, coolants, and abrasion commonly encountered on machine beds. The jacket supports repeated movement with a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D. Its exterior is RAL 2003 orange, making the power cable readily visible along machine routes.
The power cores are rated for 300/500 V under VDE and 600 V AC under UL. The control pairs are rated for 300/300 V under VDE and 600 V AC under UL for sensor and brake circuits. Continuous routing in energy chains is permitted within an ambient temperature range of -20 to +40 °C. For fixed installations, the permitted ambient temperature range is -30 to +40 °C. The cable is supplied as bulk type INK0605 and is terminated with AEH ferrules on the drive side and RKS ring terminals on the motor side. These terminals provide strain-relieved screw connections without requiring additional conductor preparation before installation.
