The RKL0071 power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a ready-made connection set that routes drive output to the motor while carrying auxiliary sensor lines in the same sheath. The assembly supports moving-axis installations such as linear pick-and-place units, portal gantries, and small articulated robots, where continuous flexing is required in industrial automation.
Four copper conductors with a cross-sectional area of 4 × 10.0 mm² carry three-phase motor current and provide a protective ground connection. Their cross-sectional area limits voltage drop on runs typical of machine tools. Separate feedback and brake circuits use a 2 × (2 × 1.0) StC + 2 × (2 × 1.5) StC conductor arrangement, providing shielded twisted pairs that suppress electromagnetic noise between the inverter and encoder electronics. The cable has an overall diameter of 22.2 mm, allowing it to fit standard energy-chain separators without excessive fill. During motion, it must bend around guides no tighter than a dynamic radius of 7.5 × D; this restriction helps prevent conductor fatigue when the chain reverses direction at high acceleration. Electrical losses are controlled by a loop resistance of 1.91 Ω/km, helping drives maintain torque setpoints without increasing current demand.
The cable has a rated flex life of 5,000,000 cycles for continuous-duty track applications. A matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket resists abrasion and weld spatter while remaining pliable at low temperatures. When permanently installed, the cable may rest in static loops with a minimum radius of 5 × D without compressing its insulation layers. The drive end terminates in a keyed RLS0721 plug, which reduces wiring errors and provides a secure connection. The motor end terminates in a sealed RLK3101 clamp box that maintains strain relief and shields the power connections from cutting fluids and oils.
