Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the RKL0040 as part of its RKL Motor Power Cables series. The assembly is a ready-made power cable that connects drive controllers to servo or spindle motors inside automated machines and machining centers. Preterminated connectors and controlled conductor geometry provide a predictable impedance path for three-phase current and protective grounding. This arrangement helps limit electromagnetic emissions while reducing the amount of cable preparation required during installation. The factory-installed connectors also eliminate field crimping and provide consistent termination for high-cycle industrial applications.
The underlying bulk cable designation is INK0604, which uses a four-core construction with individual shields to manage steep inverter voltage edges. Within the RKL portfolio, the cable has a Basic configuration without integrated sensor or brake conductors beyond the auxiliary pair. Each phase and the protective earth lead have a cross-sectional area of 6.0 mm², supporting continuous currents for medium-frame MSK motors without excessive heating. The controller end terminates in a keyed circular plug identified as RLS0723/K06, allowing connection to compatible IndraDrive equipment without an additional adapter. During motion, the cable may be routed with a minimum dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D, helping protect the copper strands from fatigue during repeated machine cycles.
The auxiliary pair for the brake or sensor supply has a cross-sectional area of 1.0 mm², providing capacity for low-power loads while keeping the overall cable diameter compact. The jacket has a service life of 5,000,000 flex cycles, making the cable suitable for continuously moving gantry axes and robot wrists. On the motor side, the molded RLK3101/K06 connector locks into compatible Rexroth motor sockets and provides touch-safe termination with strain relief. When the cable is installed in a fixed position, it may be routed with a minimum static bending radius of 5 × D, which accommodates tight control-cabinet layouts. The protective earth conductor is colored green and yellow for immediate identification when power circuits are installed or inspected.
