The RKG0049 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links position transducers to drive controllers in automated machinery where continuous axis motion requires durable, low-noise signal lines. By combining flexible conductors with molded circular connectors, the assembly transfers incremental or absolute position data without degradation. This capability supports accurate closed-loop control in robots, gantries, packaging equipment, and other systems that use energy-chain routing.
The cable has a bending life of 5,000,000 cycles, allowing it to withstand repetitive travel inside drag chains. A sheath diameter of 10.0 mm supports the selection of protective conduits and strain-relief glands with suitable clearance. The encoder side carries the keyed RGS0003 plug, while the drive end terminates in the matching RGS0008 connector, eliminating the need for field crimping. During motion, the cable requires a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D to reduce conductor fatigue. Its polyurethane insulation remains flexible throughout the permitted temperature range and helps protect the conductors from cracking during repeated movement. The cable remains pliable at temperatures as low as -40 °C, while its operating and storage temperature ceiling is 80 °C.
For stationary runs, the cable permits a minimum bend radius of 4 × D, allowing compact routing behind control panels and within fixed cable trays. A factory-installed service coupler identified as REG0011 provides an accessible connection point without requiring changes to the surrounding cable route. The signal conductors are arranged for the EC/ES/ENS interface family, allowing the assembly to connect with several compatible Rexroth encoder types without rewiring. The molded terminations help protect individual contacts from strain and preserve stable signal transmission during movement. The cable’s flexible jacket also supports repeated travel through confined routing paths where rigid wiring would place excessive stress on connectors and conductors.
