The RKG0048 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It serves as a fixed-length harness between an IndraDrive controller and the multi-turn or single-turn encoder mounted on a synchronous motor, transmitting differential position, supply, and diagnostic signals required for closed-loop motion control. Designed for installation in energy chains and moving axes, the assembly is preterminated to reduce on-site crimping and maintain signal integrity in industrial automation cells.
Mechanical durability is supported by a flex rating of 5,000,000 bending cycles, allowing the cable to move continuously in cable carriers without conductor fatigue. The overall bundle measures 9.7 mm in diameter, a size that fits standard drag-chain separators and cable glands. On the motor side, an M23 17-pin socket connector mates directly with compatible Rexroth encoder housings. The drive end terminates in a D-Sub 15-pin socket connector suited for IndraDrive feedback modules. The power conductors use a 4 × 1.0 mm² arrangement to deliver stabilized encoder supply and reference voltages with low voltage drop over the installed cable length.
The signal conductors are arranged in twisted pairs, with a control group consisting of 3 × (2 × 0.25 mm²) + 3 × 0.25 mm². This arrangement balances impedance and minimizes crosstalk when carrying incremental or SSI protocol signals. A high-visibility sheath in RAL 2003 orange makes the cable easier to trace in control cabinets and along machine frames. The jacket is made of matte PUR, providing abrasion resistance, compatibility with oils and coolants, and flexibility at low temperatures.
