Product Description:
The RKG0038 cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKG Encoder Cables series. This ready-terminated feedback cable links motor-mounted encoders to Rexroth drive controllers, allowing position and speed data to travel reliably between motion axes and the control cabinet. Its conductors come from the INK0532 bulk cable family, and the completed assembly requires no additional crimping before installation. The cable is intended for industrial automation systems in which accurate feedback transmission must be maintained during repetitive machine movement.
The mechanical service life of the assembly is rated for 5,000,000 flex cycles, providing the endurance needed for continuous motion in dynamic machine modules. When the cable is clamped in place, the permitted minimum bend radius is 5 × D. During continuous movement, the minimum bend radius increases to 7.5 × D to reduce stress on the internal conductors. A polyurethane outer jacket supports routing through drag chains and resists exposure to cutting oils and coolant. The control conductors are rated for up to 300 V AC, keeping the cable within applicable UL category limits for motion feedback wiring. These electrical and mechanical properties support routing between moving equipment and stationary drive cabinets without requiring field-installed terminations.
The drive-side termination uses a male M23 17-pin plug with the keying code INS0649. Its locking metal shell helps prevent the connection from loosening under vibration during machine operation. The motor side has a female M23 17-pin connector with mating code INS0379, allowing direct attachment to compatible Rexroth encoder interfaces without adapters. The outer sheath is orange in accordance with RAL 2003, making the cable easier to identify among other wiring on crowded trays and inside drag-chain carriers. Its PUR jacket compound maintains flexibility at low temperatures and resists abrasion caused by repeated contact with cable carrier surfaces. The matched connector arrangement also maintains a secure feedback path between the encoder and drive controller throughout repeated movement.
