The RKG0036 flexible encoder cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links a motor-mounted position encoder to the associated drive controller so that feedback signals are transmitted with low noise in automated axes. The assembly combines preterminated connectors, shielded conductors, and a polyurethane outer jacket to provide a ready-to-install harness for cable tracks and fixed cabinet runs. Its flexible design accommodates repeated movement while protecting the enclosed power and signal conductors from mechanical stress.
The cable has a rated bending life of 5,000,000 motion cycles. The minimum static bend radius is 5 × D, and the minimum dynamic bend radius is 7.5 × D, where D is the cable’s outer diameter. With an overall diameter of 9.7 mm, the cable can be routed through compact drag chains without overstressing the cores. The copper conductors can reach a maximum operating temperature of 80 °C, and the extruded jacket is made from PUR to resist oil, coolant, and abrasion. The orange RAL 2003 color improves visibility inside machines, while an overall braid-and-foil shield helps block electromagnetic interference. Four 1.0 mm² supply cores provide encoder power. Three twisted pairs and three individual conductors provide the 3 × (2 × 0.25) + 3 × 0.25 mm² control paths used for incremental and reference signals.
The harness is made from INK0532 bulk cable for plug-and-play installation. One end is factory-terminated with an INS0379 (M23, 17-pin) circular connector that mates with Bosch Rexroth motor encoders. The opposite end has an INS0760 (D-Sub, 15-pin) connector sized for the corresponding controller interface. The shield is bonded around the full circumference of each backshell so the signal pairs maintain consistent impedance and noise immunity along the entire cable run. Precrimped contacts help maintain reliable electrical connections under repeated movement. Molded strain reliefs reduce stress where the cable enters each connector and protect the internal conductors from sharp bends.
