The RKG0002 is an encoder feedback cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. The assembly links motor-mounted sensing devices to Rexroth controller hardware, transmitting position data and auxiliary supply lines in automated machinery. Its design merges signal, control, and power conductors so that a single routed cable can manage encoder feedback, reference voltages, and sensor power, reducing wiring volume inside control cabinets.

Signal integrity begins at the machine interface where an industrial M23 17-Pin (Socket) mates with the motor housing, while the control-cabinet side terminates in a D-Sub 15-Pin (Socket). The M23 body hosts two supply cores sized at 2×1.0 mm². Three twisted and shielded control pairs of 3×(2×0.25 mm²) carry incremental channels and reference signals; their braid is tied into an overall copper screen that suppresses EMI. The external diameter measures only 9.7 mm, permitting tight bundle routing. A PUR outer jacket, halogen-free construction, and continuous shielding make the cable suitable for drag-chain tracks and areas requiring low smoke toxicity. The cable must still be inspected during routine maintenance procedures to ensure there are no breaks or tears in the body of the cable itself. 

Mechanical resilience is another key attribute. The cable withstands 5,000,000 dynamic bending cycles in a drag chain and maintains signal continuity while flexing around production tooling. At the cabinet connector the molded boot directs the bundle through a 2×45° exit so sharp edges are avoided. Installers must observe a minimum fixed bend radius of 48.5 mm and a flexible routing radius of 72.8 mm to preserve conductor geometry. Conductors tolerate temperatures up to 80 °C, and the bright orange PUR jacket (RAL 2003) aids quick visual tracing during maintenance.
