Product Description:
The RKB0001 is a control cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKB Control Cables series. It is intended for industrial automation assemblies where motion axes, drives, and PLCs must share high-speed bus data without signal loss. The cable is preassembled with matching connectors, allowing system bus links to be routed quickly while maintaining consistent electrical performance inside energy chains and control cabinets. Its outer sheath and conductor geometry follow Rexroth guidelines for electromagnetic immunity in multi-axis machines, where nearby motor and power cables can introduce electrical interference.
Mechanical endurance is rated at 5,000,000 flexing cycles, indicating the cable can withstand repeated travel through drag chains before conductor fatigue is expected. To avoid excessive stress during motion, the cable requires a dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D, where D represents its outer diameter. A stationary installation permits a tighter static bending radius of 5 × D because the cable is not subjected to continuous movement. The product is supplied as a ready-made assembly, eliminating field termination errors that could compromise conductor placement or signal impedance. Continuous operation is permitted at temperatures up to 80 °C, allowing the conductor insulation and shielding to remain stable near warm servo motors and power drives.
Within the product line, this cable carries the Basic designation and is classified as a system bus cable. Its conductor pairing, twist pattern, and shielding are designed for deterministic RS-422/485-based networks used by compatible Rexroth drives. The minimum ambient temperature during service is -30 °C, allowing machines kept in cold storage to start without embrittling the cable jacket. When unused cables are held in inventory, storage temperatures up to 40 °C are permitted without shortening their expected shelf life. Proper observation of the operating, storage, and bending limits helps prevent damage to the jacket, shielding, and internal conductors during handling and installation.
