The RZB01.2-UN operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. This portable interface connects to an RD500 or RD51 inverter, allowing users to enter commands, view operating status, and manage configuration data directly at the machine. In an automation cell, the panel serves as a local human-machine interface for adjusting setpoints and diagnosing drive behavior without requiring separate external tools. Its direct connection provides access to drive information at the equipment, which is useful when a fixed control station is not conveniently located nearby.
The panel communicates through the internal drive port and supports the RD500/RD51 drive families. Information appears on a four-line graphical display that presents parameters, fault codes, and trend values as clear text. The removable housing allows the panel to be disconnected when access is needed at another compatible drive. Saved parameter archives remain in panel memory, protecting the stored data when drive power is unavailable. A nonvolatile event log stores up to 10 faults for later review of recent operating conditions. Pressing the Esc key provides recovery access, while the plus and minus keys adjust setpoints in single-step increments. Parameter downloads require a Level 3 password to prevent unintended changes. The front face measures 100 mm in length, allowing the unit to fit common cabinet openings without modification.
An integrated copy function works with the transfer feature to load a saved parameter archive into another compatible unit. Local motion can be initiated or halted through the start/stop control, allowing direct operation without opening the main PLC interface. The enclosure weighs 0.20 kg, making the panel easy to carry between nearby drive installations and comfortable to hold during extended system checks. The panel provides Normal and Test operating states for standard use and restricted simulation. Access to Test mode requires a Level 2 password, helping prevent unauthorized changes that could affect normal machine operation. The panel retains configuration data independently of the connected drive, while its local controls provide immediate access to operating commands, fault history, and parameter transfer functions.
