Classified internally as a basic drive, it modulates three-phase mains power so that induction motors can run at variable speeds demanded by conveyors, mixers, and other automated stations. This first-generation design forms the core of a modular cabinet lineup. Its electronics handle power conversion, while a separate firmware cartridge ordered as a subposition supplies the application-specific control set.

The drive regulates motor flux with U/f curve control, a method that maintains a constant volts-per-hertz ratio to prevent magnetic saturation during speed changes. Continuous load handling is supported by a 31 kVA power stage, giving the controller capacity for mid-range motor groups without external step-up gear. Acceptable grid conditions fall between 380 to 480 V, covering standard industrial networks on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz systems. Internal heat is removed by forced air cooling, and fans move air through dedicated ducts so the semiconductors remain within thermal limits. Dynamic braking energy is dissipated by a built-in brake chopper and resistor, eliminating the need for an external dump module during rapid stops. Line-side disturbances are attenuated through an integrated mains filter, which reduces high-frequency noise before it propagates to other equipment.

A three-phase source is connected through a 3 × AC converter input section that rectifies and inverts power in one enclosure. Control electronics stay active during mains outages thanks to external 24 V stand-by power, allowing communication and fault logging while the main bus is de-energized. Voltage fluctuations of up to ±10 % are tolerated without derating, which simplifies installation on feeders with marginal regulation. The unit uses a Generation 1 layout, and its firmware file is supplied separately for the required control function.
