Indramat Refu, an arm of the company, is the manufacturer of the universal RD 500 drive system, designed for various induction and synchronous motors. It comprises modular units such as drive converters, inverters, and rectifier modules and is used in agitators, presses, and roller tables.
The RD52.1-8N-160-F-V1-FW is a drive control device in the RD 500 drive system that uses the field-oriented vector control method. It is especially suited for highly-dynamic drive tasks and is equipped with features that enhance its function. One of these is its heat dissipation mechanism of forced air cooling with integrated liquid circulation. It also features an additional 24V standby power supply that allows some operations to be carried out when no line supply voltage is connected. It supports the use of firmware, but this must be the exact version recommended by the manufacturer and must be ordered separately.
With an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20 according to EN 60529, the RD52.1-8N-160-F-V1-FW is protected from the penetration of solid extrinsic materials with a diameter of 50mm or more. It requires an ambient temperature between 0oC and 40oC for its operation and a relative humidity that must not exceed 90%.
