The RD52.1-7N-110-D-V1-FW is a drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. It is installed between a plant's DC bus and the motor to regulate torque, speed, and flux with closed-loop accuracy. In this role, it manages motor current so acceleration, steady-state speed, and load changes stay within the commanded operating profile. This makes it suitable for conveyor, extruder, and process-line automation where precise electrical coordination is required.

This model supplies up to 110 kW of output power and can draw energy from a DC link that remains between 530 to 670 V. Its modulation algorithms use field-oriented vector control, so stator currents are resolved into orthogonal components that track the rotor field in real time and improve dynamic torque response. This control method helps the drive react quickly when process demand rises or falls. Cooling is handled by a plug-through cooler sized for this power class, allowing heat to be pushed outside the cabinet without additional ducts. The power bridge is designed for an Inverter DC supply, which separates motor energy from the utility mains and supports regenerative sharing between multiple drives.

An external control circuit can keep the logic alive through a dedicated 24 V standby power input, which supports parameter retention and fieldbus communication during main-power isolation. Keeping the control electronics active in this state allows the unit to remain available for supervision and communication while the power section is inactive. Because it is delivered without a built-in brake chopper, excess regenerative energy must be handled by a separate resistor module or a common DC grid.
