The RD52.1-7N-007-P-NN-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. It forms the regulated link between the plant's DC bus and an AC motor, delivering commanded frequency and voltage so motion profiles remain accurate. The device is intended for medium-power automation lines where closed-loop speed and torque must track process variables. When integrated with PLC logic, the controller supports coordinated movement in conveyor sections, pumping stations, and index drives that operate on a common DC supply.

Its DC input window of 530 to 670 V allows the inverter to be tied directly to industrial rectifier stacks without additional step-down transformers. The internal power electronics are rated for an Inverter DC supply, meaning the unit expects a constant DC link rather than three-phase mains. At a continuous output of 7.5 kW, the controller can maintain motor shaft power suitable for medium conveying or moderate pump duties. Vector regulation is achieved through field-oriented vector control, which separates stator current into torque and flux components so dynamic response remains stable under load transients. Thermal management uses a heat dissipation panel that transfers losses to a mounting plate; this passive path is specified for devices up to 18.5 kW and removes the need for forced-air channels in smaller cabinets.

For braking events, the unit is supplied without a built-in brake chopper, so external dissipation hardware must be added if the application returns energy to the DC bus. The controller is generation 1, which ensures compatibility with first-series RD500 option cards. The controller ships with control boards only, and firmware ordered separately means the operating software is supplied separately. The unit has no optional technology functions, so application-specific I/O or software modules can be added separately.
