During rapid deceleration events, a built-in brake chopper diverts surplus bus voltage to an external resistor, preventing overvoltage trips and minimizing cycle time in high-inertia loads. Support functions complement the Generation 1 platform. An external supply provides 24 V standby power that keeps the control electronics active when the three-phase line is isolated, allowing fieldbus communication, drive enabling, and parameter storage without energizing the power stage. Protection circuitry monitors current-filter feedback (U6, V6, W6), enabling fast shutdown if an overcurrent condition or phase imbalance is detected. This arrangement allows status exchange and control readiness to remain available while the main power section is switched off.
