The RD52.1-5B-075-L-NN-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. In an automation line, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into regulated three-phase output so induction or synchronous motors can run at commanded speed and torque. By housing control electronics, power semiconductors, and protective circuitry in one unit, the controller serves as the central interface between the programmable logic controller and the motor field wiring. This integrated layout keeps the power and control functions in a single cabinet-mounted unit.

The unit is supplied from a three-phase AC converter source and is designed for grids with a nominal voltage of 500 V. Internally, it delivers up to 75 kW to the connected motor, which supports demanding industrial loads without a separate power stage. Speed regulation is executed through field-oriented vector control, which independently modulates flux and torque-producing current components for fast transient response. This controller belongs to design generation 1, so the hardware layout, option boards, and parameter maps match the first release of the RD 500 platform. Additional software functions are available, but the software package is ordered separately rather than being preinstalled. The general-purpose option slots are not equipped, which leaves room for I/O, encoder feedback, or communication modules that suit the machine architecture. This arrangement allows the interface configuration to be selected for the application while the main power section remains unchanged.
