In the interests of meeting the needs of manufacturers in different industries around the globe, Bosch Rexroth designs and manufactures devices that simplify several factory automation processes. Some of these devices are the components of the three-phase RD 500 drive system. They include drive converters and inverters, rectifier and supply modules, and power sections. Each module can be ordered as a separate component or completely wired in the system. The RD52 frequency converters are a series of converters in this system with an array of features for simplified, yet highly efficient work.
The RD52.1-4N-090-L-NN-FW is a Bosch Rexroth frequency converter in the RD 500 drive system. It uses field-oriented regulation for motion control and forced air cooling as its cooling mode. For its operation, it requires a 3-phase nominal AC connecting voltage that ranges from 380V to 480V with a +/-10% allowance. Its power rating is 90kW and it weighs 74kg. This device belongs to size class E and can be operated at varying pulse frequencies for varying corresponding outputs. It can be operated with firmware but they must be as specified by Bosch Rexroth and ordered as separate sub items.
With its modular design, the RD52.1-4N-090-L-NN-FW is suited for mounting in control cabinets. This allows it to be installed easily with other components of the RD 500 system. Like other units, it has a 22.5mm mechanical grid pattern that allows side-by-side mounting. To reduce harmonics fed into the line supply of the device, it is equipped with integrated radio interference suppression filters and line reactors. Objects larger than 12mm cannot be admitted into the frequency converter with its IP 20 rating according to EN 60529.
