AC drive converters, inverters for DC supply, and rectifier and supply modules are some of the components of the RD 500 drive system designed by Indramat Refu. This three-phase drive system features a modular build that enhances its flexibility. Its applications are vast, but it is commonly used for controlling synchronous and induction motors. Other applications include chemical and process technology, machine tools, hoist and conveyor technology, and handling and assembly systems.
The RD52.1-4N-030-L-V1-FW is a converter model in Indramat Refu’s RD 500 drive system. It uses field-oriented regulation for its operation with a three-phase AC voltage supply that ranges between 380V and 480V with a tolerance of ±10%. Its heat dissipation method is forced air cooling with a cooling air requirement of 0.1m3/s. It belongs to Size Class C and protection category IP 20 according to EN 60529. This means that solid extrinsic objects with a diameter of 12mm or more cannot enter the device. The converter weighs 36kg and has a power rating of 30kW. It can also be operated at pulse modulation frequencies of 4kHz, 8kHz, and 12kHz.
A removable control panel on the RD52.1-4N-030-L-V1-FW is used to operate, monitor, and parameterize the system. It has a parameter copy function that allows it to share its parameters with other devices. Like other units in the RD 500 drive system, this converter has a 22.5mm mechanical grid pattern.
