Bosch Rexroth Indramat delivers the RD52.1-4B-075-L-F1-FW drive controller, a member of the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. As a closed-loop power electronics module, the unit modulates three-phase induction or synchronous motors so that speed and torque follow programmable setpoints in automated machinery and process lines. By converting the incoming mains supply into a variable output under vector control, the device serves as the interface between supervisory motion commands and mechanical motion. This arrangement lets the drive manage motor response in applications that need repeatable speed control and steady torque under changing loads.

At the power stage, the controller delivers 75 kW of continuous output. It accepts line voltages from 380 to 480 V three-phase AC and remains in operation when the mains varies by ±10 % from nominal. The incoming energy is processed by a 3 × AC converter front end that rectifies the supply before power is delivered to the motor. Motion commands are executed by field-oriented vector control, which allows separate regulation of flux and torque for precise response during acceleration, load changes, and low-speed holding. Generation 1 hardware supports these functions and uses the standard connector layout for this design.

A built-in brake chopper dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration so the DC bus voltage stays within limits. Heat produced by the switching devices is removed through forced air cooling, and the airflow path supports cabinet mounting without external heat exchangers. Line-borne disturbances are reduced by the integrated mains filter, which helps reduce conducted interference on the supply lines. For feedback accuracy, the control board monitors phase currents through the current filter feedback at U6, V6, and W6, allowing real-time adjustment of pulse patterns as load conditions change.
