The RD52.1-4B-018-L-NN-NN-T1-FW is a drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. It regulates three-phase induction or synchronous motors in automated machinery by using field-oriented vector control, which supports accurate speed and torque management in industrial motion systems. A built-in brake chopper, an integrated line filter, and converter supply terminals allow the unit to connect directly to 380 to 480 V AC lines inside control cabinets. This arrangement makes the controller suitable for enclosed installations where direct line connection and internal braking capability are required.

The controller accepts a three-phase AC input from 380 V to 480 V with a tolerance of ±10% and delivers a rated motor output of 18.5 kW. Under nominal conditions, the inverter supplies 35 A of phase current and provides 23 kVA of apparent power. The output frequency is adjustable up to 500 Hz, which supports high-speed spindle or servo applications. The enclosure is rated IP20, so the drive must be installed in a closed panel. For short overload periods, the RD52.1 controller can deliver 70 A for 0.5 seconds, 60 A for 1 second, and 46 A for up to 60 seconds. Short-term apparent power reaches 30 kVA under these conditions. The built-in brake chopper absorbs regenerated energy continuously at 14 kW, which helps stabilize the DC link during rapid deceleration. At the lower carrier setting noted above, inverter losses fall to 0.57 kW, which reduces panel heat load and airflow demand. The assembly weighs 36 kg and is intended for converter-fed networks within the stated input range.
