The RD51.1-5B-003-D-CF-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. It interfaces with three-phase induction motors and provides closed-loop speed and torque regulation in conveyors, automated machinery, and process equipment. This lets the connected motor respond more consistently when load demand changes during routine operation. It is suitable for drive systems that need controlled acceleration, running speed, and deceleration instead of direct-on-line motor operation. The unit is intended for installations where stable motor supply and adjustable speed control are both required.

This unit uses a three-phase AC converter input and is intended for utility supplies in the nominal 500 V class. Inside the controller, U/f curve control adjusts output voltage in proportion to frequency, which suits constant-torque loads such as conveying and general process motion. This control method is commonly used where simple speed regulation is needed without more complex vector-control behavior. The power section is rated for 3.0 kW of continuous motor output, allowing the controller to operate small and medium drive applications from one frame size. Motor and semiconductor heat is removed by a plug-through cooler that extends outside the enclosure, helping keep most dissipated heat out of the cabinet interior. Because most of the heat leaves through the cooler section, cabinet air handling can be simplified in suitable installations. The control board uses the C1 + F1 function grouping, which includes standard positioning, ramp, and fault-handling functions used in this series. The controller is generation 1, so it matches the first design release of this product line and supports the option set intended for that release.
