The RD51.1-4N-132-R-NN-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. In automated plants, it regulates induction-motor speed and torque so conveyors, pumps, or mixers can follow programmable setpoints while responding to process feedback. The unit is installed between the three-phase mains and the motor, translating line voltage into a controlled output that matches the application’s load profile. This arrangement also supports smoother starts and controlled speed changes during normal operation.

This controller employs U/f curve control, which keeps the ratio between output voltage and frequency constant so magnetizing current stays stable during acceleration or load changes. Its maximum continuous shaft power is rated at 132 kW, giving it enough capacity to run large production machinery. The DC link is supplied from a line side that accepts 380 to 480 V and uses a three-phase AC converter connection, allowing direct tie-in to standard industrial distribution networks. Thermal management is provided by liquid cooling with an internal pump, a closed circuit that removes waste heat from the power modules and helps keep cabinet temperatures low at high load. The unit comes without a built-in brake chopper, so braking energy must be handled by motor losses or an external resistor during rapid deceleration.
