The RD51 controller operates from a three-phase AC converter input across 380 to 480 V, and the line supply can fluctuate within a tolerance of ±10 % without derating. Within this range, the internal logic applies U/f curve control, which maintains a proportional relationship between voltage and frequency so motor flux remains stable through the operating speed range. This control method is well suited to standard induction motor applications that need reliable speed regulation without more complex feedback arrangements. Heat generated by the power electronics is removed through forced air cooling, so cabinet airflow must be maintained for stable operation. An internal monitor also supervises supply symmetry and trips if a phase is lost.

For dynamic braking duties, the unit is supplied without a built-in brake chopper, so an external chopper is required when regenerative energy exceeds the DC-bus capacity during deceleration. The inverter delivers a continuous mechanical output of 30 kW, which suits medium-power pumps, fans, and ventilators. Control electronics remain active during line outages through an auxiliary line that provides 24 V standby power, and this helps preserve parameter memory and fieldbus communication until input power returns. Power quality on the incoming side is improved by an integrated mains filter that attenuates conducted emissions and reduces the need for additional line components.
