It is built on design generation 1 hardware and uses the established housing format of the product line. This arrangement supports smooth speed adjustment without relying on mechanical throttling or stepped contactor control. It is intended for variable-speed operation in pumps, fans, conveyors, and other machinery that benefits from electronic motor control.

The controller accepts a three-phase supply through a three-phase AC converter input and operates across a line range of 380 to 480 V. Within this window, the input can vary by up to 10 percent while the output continues to deliver a rated drive capacity of 22 kW. Regulation is executed with U/f curve control, so the processor maintains a proportional relationship between output frequency and voltage and keeps magnetizing current stable through the motor speed range. Heat generated by the IGBTs is removed with forced-air cooling, enabling full-load switching cycles inside sealed cabinets. This control method is commonly used where steady motor behavior is required across a broad operating range.

The controller is supplied without a built-in brake chopper, so applications that require rapid deceleration need an external resistor module. It also uses an integrated line filter, which helps reduce cabinet component count and limits conducted interference on the supply. When the main bus is de-energized, a separate 24 V standby power input keeps the control electronics active for fieldbus communication and parameter retention. The support voltage also allows diagnostic access and network availability while the motor power section is off.
