Bosch Rexroth’s RD 500 drive system is a universal three-phase drive system for different synchronous and induction motors. It has a modular hardware and software design that allows the drive system to be flexibly adjusted to the specific drive application. The drive system includes various AC Drive converters, inverters for DC supply, rectifiers, and supply modules. Its typical areas of applications include chemical and process technology, machine tools, hoist- and conveyor technology, handling and assembly systems, and packaging and foodstuff machines.
The RD51.1-4N-005-L-NN-FW is a converter in the RD 500 device series without a braking chopper. It works on a frequency control basis, where the set value determines the converter output frequency. The power sections are designed for cooling at the rear. Its cooling mode is via forced-air cooling, which can be implemented with improved protection outside the cabinet. It is equipped with a start inhibitor function which implements the 'protection against accidental starting' requirement according to EN 60 204-1. Special attention is placed on simple handling here, as seen in its automatic motor adaptation via parameter identification and other functions.
The main recommended applications of the RD51.1-4N-005-L-NN-FW include ventilator and pump drives, conveyor belts, centrifuges, agitators, roller tables, presses, moving gears, spinning machines, and grinding machines.
