The RD 500 drive system designed by Indramat Refu is a three-phase current drive system designed for different models of synchronous and induction motors. Its components include AC drive converters, inverters for DC supply, and rectifier and supply modules. The system’s hardware and software components are built in a modular configuration, enabling them to be customized to suit user-specific applications. They can be ordered separately or as separate sub-items for use in chemical and process technology, hoist and conveyor technology, and machine tools.
The RD51.1-4B-055-L-D1-FW is a converter model in the RD 500 system whose motion control method is voltage frequency control. It has a power rating of 55kW and requires a three-phase AC voltage between 380V and 480V for its operation. The tolerance limit for this voltage rating is ±10%. This device uses a pulse-width modulated output voltage with switching frequencies to control the torque and speed of its three-phase induction motor. Fast-switching semi-conductors are used to ensure that it carries out its control function efficiently. It also has integrated filters for radio interference suppression and line reactors to reduce the feedback of harmonics into the line supply.
Forced air cooling is the ideal cooling method of the RD51.1-4B-055-L-D1-FW. It has a cooling air requirement of 0.4m3/s and is a product of Size Class C.
