The Bosch Rexroth RD51.1-4B-045-D-D1-FW is a universal three-phase drive controller. It can be used in combination with Bosch induction and synchronous motors for industrial control applications. Different firmware, that support different feature sets, are available for the drives. Therefore the firmware has to be ordered separately. The power output rating of the RD51.1-4B-045-D-D1-FW is 45 kilowatts. The device is converter-based. The converter on the drive has an integrated brake chopper and is compatible with three-phase AC input at voltage ranging from 380 to 480 Volts AC. A plug through cooler is fitted on the drive for cooling. Bosch recommends 0 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature for drive operation. Outside this range, the drive output will derate. Drive operation in ambient conditions that are not approved by quality standards can also cause the device to malfunction.
The RD51.1-4B-045-D-D1-FW drive supports two additional functions: standby power and connection to a chemistry module with NAMUR terminal strip. The RZC series chemistry modules are accessories for RD51 drives that can be ordered depending upon requirements. The standby power feature supported by the RD51.1-4B-045-D-D1-FW allows the drive electronics to function even when the input AC supply is unavailable. An external 24 Volts DC supply is required by the standby power feature. At 4 kilohertz pulse frequency, the output current of the RD51.1-4B-045-D-D1-FW drive is 82 Amps which can go up to 107 Amps for 60 seconds, 139 Amps for 1 second and 164 Amps for 0.5 seconds. The IP20 rated enclosure for the RD51.1-4B-045-D-D1-FW is designed for cabinet mounting. The radio interference suppression level rating of the drive is A1 as per EN 55011.
